Asus Eee PC 1018P Aluminum Slim Netbook Leaks Ahead Of CeBIT

blogee-150x150If you, like me, are totally tired of seeing the same old netbook specs and designs every other day — this one’s a sight for our sore eyes. A new Eee PC netbook has just been leaked and it sure looks great. Meet the Eee PC 1018P — soon to be released and unveiled at the upcoming CeBit 2010.

The most striking part about the netbook is the really thin aluminum chassis. I don’t know why they would do something premium like that on a netbook but if they are going solely for the appeal and sturdiness at the cost of price, they might lose a few people. Then again, some people are actually willing to pay a premium to get a netbook that actually gets there work done. They would be really interested in this.

The aluminum body altogether is 18mm thick on an average and that ‘s a lot. Since Apple more or less started brought to the maint stream the whole Aluminum  trend,it is inevitable that such an product will get compared to what Apple has to offer.

On that count however, the 1018P won’t be scoring too many points. It can’t have anything on Apple when it comes to design aesthetics, given the usual price point of Eee PC’s. But that doesn’t mean it has to look bad. Being thinner than the existing Asus 1008P, it is sure to be quite appealing.

As is usual with Asus, they are also releasing similar netbooks with similar features with similar models numbers! With the 1018P there will be the Eee PC 1015P, which will be the updated version of the 1005P. The Eee PC 1005P is actually not all that old, so the 1015P will probably use the Aluminum skin.

The 1018P, despite being really thin, can hold a battery life of up to 10 hours. The 1015P can apparently hold up to 14 hour!
